Making Vanilla
Extract
16 oz
of Absolute Vodka
7
Vanilla beans
1
sharp knife
1
16oz container
Scissors
Pour
vodka into container set a side.
On a
cutting board cut a vanilla bean down the center of the bean.
Use
the knife to scrape down the bean gathering the beans caviar on the edge of the
blade.
Drop
caviar into vodka.
Use
the scissors and cut the remaining parts of the bean into six pieces then drop
pieces into the jar.
Place
the lid and ring onto the jar and tighten.
Carefully
shake the jar four to five times then place in a cool, dark, and dry place.
Within
4 months the extract will be ready for use.
Periodically
shake.
